10 knitting projects in January completed

I had a goal last month to knit and completely finish 10 knitting projects. I got them all done just in the nick of time. 10 might seem like a small amount of projects to want to complete but when you have three small children that are willing to help you every step of the way it's a lot to me. Here are my ten projects, i am proud to display because they are completely finished and have either been mailed or are on their way.

My ten projects were:
1) a crocheted brownie for my uncle
2) lucky 7 cable hat
3) slouch tuva eyelet hat
4) preemie eyelet hat
5) mock rib cable and eyelet preemie hat
6) preemie juliet hat
7) basic knitted preemie beanie
8) my sister Jade's house hippo
9) a shark wash cloth
10) pair of knitted slippers for my mom for her bday

OTN: (on the needles) and goal updates

I figured i was long over due for a blog post. It's February already i cannot believe it. This month we are celebrating my Mom's bday and Noah our baby is turning 1 next week on the 10th. My boyfriend's grandma's bday is today as well. This is going to be a mixed post about what i am currently working on knitting wise and my new years goals.

Right now on my needles i have a blanket for Noah. The blanket is going to be a late happy first bday present. I am making in it shades of blue to fit his bed which is twin size. I am following a pattern and knitting a bunch of fish and sewing them all together into one big blanket. I am hoping to get the blanket done this month but we will see how everything goes. Here is a photo of what the first of the fish look like for his blanket:

One of my bigger goals for the new year is to donate 100 baby hats of any size to charity/a good cause. I have put a small start on my goal by donating 6/100. I am donating 6 more this month and that will make it to 12. Once the warm weather comes, i am looking forward to lots more knitting while the babies play outdoors. Here are my 6 newly donated hats, the lady i sent them to was kind enough to take this great photo of them for my use and her scrap book.

It's been a good year so far and its only Feb. I am hoping the rest of 2011 is great and everyone gets to accomplish something they have wanted to. I want to end my post with warm hugs for a close friend who went through a lot of crap yesterday and needs lots of love and positive thoughts, love you girl.

Update for New Year's goals

One of my new years goal this year was to lose most of my baby weight. I have a goal to lose 47 lbs. In December before the new year started my weigh in was at 220 lbs. Keep in mind i have three babies very close together and never had the time to lose the weight in between them. We are 12 days into the new year and i have already lost 6 lbs. i think this is an awesome start to one of my goals.

Until the next blog update have a positive week every one... :)

New Years Resolutions/Goals for 2011

A lot of us set new years resolutions and we never keep them or try our best and only keep it going for a short amount of time. This year i am setting goals for myself instead. I want this year to be even better then last year and this is and can only be managed by me. Not those around me or those who are not me. This 2011 i promise to set my goals so they are not out of my reach and i can accomplish them to the best of my ability. my goals for 2011 are:

- lose 47 lbs
- be more positive and try and find one thing positive in every day
- make more time for myself that does not involve Ed or the babies
- not take for granted the small things in life as last year i saw shown how easy they can be taken away
- do what is best for myself and now when to stop before i get hurt
- get as much of my schooling done as i can
- get my 40 hours of volunteering done and signed off
- donate some knitted items to charity

My updates for this year for my blog. Noah our youngest is turning one next month and our daughter will be going to school in September. Marcus is going to be three and has started talking a lot already and Ed and i are planning our own future together. A few months ago my mom has recently found out she is sick and we are hoping for the best and praying for the best possible news.

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE !!!!!

I love You Baby Blankets

It seems like everyone is having babies this year. I have been very busy with making baby blankets. Thankfully online there is alot of quick knit baby blankets that knit up in a matter of 5 days or so. It's also nice that we are a smoke free home. As i know alot of families don't smoke now and when you do receive a gift from someone who does smoke, well it turns you off a little. There is detergent thankfully to take the smoke smell out and we have had to purchase quite a bit of it.

So far i have knit a white blanket and a pink baby blanket. Both from the same knitting pattern and i will be knitting a yellow one as well for another friend due in January. I love this pattern as they were fast to knit and i could knit them while watching tv and at night when i had nothing else to do.  I found the pattern on a fellow knitting blog and knew i had to try it. I bought a 1000 gram ball of afghan wool at walmart and the blanket barely touched the ball of wool. The one friend receiving the pink blanket is expecting a girl at the end of august.

These blankets are called the "I Love You" baby blanket. The sign in the middle is the American sign language for I love you. I think it goes really nicely with the hearts in each of the corners. This is by far my favorite baby blanket pattern and i am sure i will be making many more.

The white blanket is a size newborn size and the pink one was knit on bigger needles with thicker wool. The pink one turned out just a little bit smaller then toddler size. I personally don't get much use when people give you small blankets as a baby gift because you can never use them very long. Tagging along with these blankets will be other surprises but i cannot say what exactly. It would ruin the surprise !!!!

Izzy's Birthday Doll

Yes it is finally finished and i could not be happier. Izzy's bday doll was finished and sent off to her yesterday. The dolls name is Prince? Mom and i can't figure it out either. But thats what her name is and she went around the block for a walk in the doll stroller today. I am so glad it have it done and one less project off of my list for now.  Just my luck that when Prince was fully sewn and put together. Someone had run off with her clothes. Boy was i not impressed. I was already done right to the wire on getting her done in time. The kids decided to bless me with being up all night every night while Ed was off for the long weekend.

It made my weekend even better when i couldn't find the memory card for the camera. I can only take 12 photos on my camera with the memory card. So that doesn't leave me with alot of photos. Izzy raked in very well for her bday. She was very sad when every one either left or went to bed. She wanted to stay up and party all night for her party. Izzy had very yummy cupcakes with a matching cake. Art (step dad) made her a garden in the front yard as well for her bday. They are just her flowers in the garden. While we are still unsure as to how long they will last without getting picked.
